Since our first vintage in 2013, our vision has always been to showcase wine varieties that excel at growing in the subregions of the Adelaide Hills.
We produce minimal intervention, cool climate, vegan friendly wines that express natural characters true to grape variety and terroir.
We aim to create elegant wines with intense flavour, wines that are approachable and yet intriguingly complex.
Turon & Alex are newlyweds who founded the Turon Wines label together.
The couple were married (over a glass of wine) in the Adelaide Hills in October 2018.
They are working with the vision to produce wines that showcase varieties that excel at growing in the cool climate subregions of the Adelaide Hills.
Alex's preferred title is chief cellar hand at Turon Wines. She will honestly disclose that she has no 'official' wine education. Although having worked each vintage for the label with Turon, she has learnt to truly appreciate a clean winery and good vintage dinner of a hot chicken and coleslaw!
She is a physiotherapist by trade, a wheat farmer's daughter and prior to meeting Turon, she did prefer a vodka and lime over wine. The tables have since turned.
Turon graduated with a Ba. Oenology (Hons) from Adelaide University in 2010. Working for various wineries during and after university, Turon identified that the Adelaide Hills was where he ultimately wanted to lay his winemaking hat.
He has over 10 years winemaking experience in the Adelaide Hills, working for some premium wine producers.
Overseas vintages in Oregon, USA, and Eger, Hungary, has helped to cement Turon's passion for cool climate winemaking.
Each variety in our Limited range is a bottling of one stand-out parcel within a block that Turon wanted to pay special attention to. Only one barrel of each variety made each year.
In short, they’re too good to be blended.
Each label is as unique as the wine itself. The very talented Kellie Em has designed these artworks for our artist range.
They are visual metaphors representing the personality of each wine.

Our minimal intervention approach to winemaking means having the confidence to stand back and let the wine be itself, but the knowledge to step in and guide the wine in the right direction when necessary.
We take a holistic approach to our winemaking. This begins in the selection of the vineyard site. Terroir is the natural environment in which a particular wine is produced and we believe this is the largest influencer on wine quality. Selecting the right sub-region, site, soil and mesoclimate within the cool and diverse Adelaide Hills region is a crucial step in what allows our wines to reach their full potential.
In the cellar, experimentation of method is essential to discover the potential of terroir and variety. Each year our understanding of our vineyard sites grows and we are able to develop the fruit in a way that will best create wines of expression, elegance and precision, true to the vineyard site and terroir.
We aim to allow all elements of the wine to shine through, building layers and complexity without an introduced element dominating the finely balanced composition.
Our wines are produced from premium Adelaide Hills fruit. We believe this cool climate region has real potential to produce exciting cool climate wines.
Our Adelaide Hills based winery is not just the home of Turon Wines, it's a co-working share space and winemaking consulting service.
We offer our winery as a hub for young winemakers looking to rent space and equipment to make their own wine. We see it as an opportunity to bring together knowledge and passion, share resources and of course the opportunity to make great, small batch wine. We have called our co-working winery The Hills Handcrafted Collective.
We have offered this service since 2017 and some exciting projects have started here.
