Wow it's been a hell of a year!
I am happy to say that we have successfully completed our second vintage in our new winery without burning the place down!
The 2018 season was almost as close to perfect as you can get. Spring 2017 ensured there was plenty of sunshine to help vine development and a couple of showers here and there to keep to soil moisture topped up. Harvest started at the end of February with the Lenswood Chardonnay and finished in late March with the Balhannah Shiraz. 2018 will prove to be a very good vintage for both whites and reds alike, producing a vibrant Chardonnay with beautiful minerality and fresh citrus flavours, Pinot Noir of great intensity and bright juicy fruit as well as a deep dark brooding Shiraz. We are really excited to get these bottled and into your glass.
It wasn't all just about wine this year though (well sort of), with Alex and I tying the knot between the vines on the top of a wind swept hill. We couldn't have asked for a better day and to be surround by better people. What a party!
For the first time we submitted our wines for review by the man himself James Halliday. When you send your wines off to someone with a reputation like his you cross your fingers and toes to just have one nice thing said about you and maybe be included in his book, The Wine Companion. Some months after sending our wines off for review I received a call from James on a Sunday morning wanting to know more about us and our winery. I almost fell flat on my back! I was so shocked and ecstatic that James was taking a keen interest in our wines and winery.
James Halliday just released his 2019 Wine Companion. I was blown away by the review in his book. All six of our wines that we sent him received 90 points or above, three of our wines received 95 points. We became a 5 star Halliday winery and he put us in his list of Top 10 New Producers for 2019. I am so proud of what we have achieved in such a short amount of time.
To celebrate this year's success, we have decided to launch our wine club. We have designed two membership programs for members to enjoy our new release Artist and Limited ranges.
The club will have a capped membership, to ensure access to our Limited wines. Our first membership intake is limited to 50 places.
To make this first release really special we have saved 2 cases of each of our sell out 95 point 2016 Limited Pinot Noir and Syrah. These are reserved to be allocated to our first members to join.

Currently, we are hard at work in the cellar getting wines ready for bottle and setting the winery up for the 2019 vintage. So far we have had a sunny but mild spring which is seeing us on track for another quality year up in the Adelaide Hills.
