Alex’s preferred title is chief cellar hand at Turon Wines. She will honestly disclose that she has no ‘official’ wine education. Although having worked each vintage for the label with Turon, she has learnt to truly appreciate a clean winery and a good vintage dinner of a hot chicken and coleslaw! 

She is a physiotherapist by trade, a wheat farmer’s daughter and loves a sparkling to start the party.


Turon graduated with a Ba. Oenology (Hons) from Adelaide University in 2010. Working for various wineries during and after university, Turon identified that the Adelaide Hills was where he ultimately wanted to lay his winemaking hat.

He has over 10 years of winemaking experience in the Adelaide Hills, working for some premium wine producers.

Overseas vintages in Oregon, the USA, and Eger, Hungary, has helped to cement Turon’s passion for cool-climate winemaking.



We aim to create elegant wines with intense flavour, wines that are approachable and yet intriguingly complex. 

With a love for the environment and sustainable practices at every step. We grow grapes and produce wines with minimal intervention. These are vegan-friendly and express the natural characters of our terroir and the grape variety.

Our minimal intervention approach to winemaking means having the confidence to stand back and let the wine be itself, but the knowledge to step in and guide the wine in the right direction when necessary.

Ultimately we endeavour to create wines that bring joy and will be here for future generations.

We are located in the beautiful subregion of Lenswood in the Adelaide Hills, South Australia.

In 2017, we built our custom small-batch winery with the aim to showcase varieties that best suit our cool climate region.

Currently, we are developing our vineyard with biodynamic and organic principles in mind. In 2020, we planted a low yielding, high density vineyard, which we are really excited about. Our property’s altitude ensures we have cool nights, perfect for creating fresh vibrant wines, and beautiful daytime sunlight, creating incredibly rich and expressive fruit.



The Adelaide Hills is a pristine gem in the South Australian landscape. Ultimately it was the quality of the fruit that drew us here.

Geographically it is one of the most diverse wine regions in Australia. It offers a large number of subregions and pockets with a potential to grow a great many varieties.
